Hot Milk Sponge Cake

so he asked why i don’t bake anymore. OK FINE, im getting lazy. choosing to watch shows instead of bake. saw this recipe on kirbiecravings and had to try it. its so soft in the inside.. ugh, wanna get another slice now. one point to note though, in kirbiecravings’ recipe, she asked for 2cups of sugar, I used 1 1/4 cups and still think its too sweet so i put 1 cup below. but adjust to how sweet you like your cakes i guess.

Hot Milk Sponge Cake

4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/4 cups fat free milk
10 tablespoons butter, cubed

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, beat eggs on high speed for 5 minutes or at least double the size. Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy (about 2-3 more minutes). Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder in a small bowl. Gradually add to batter, beating at low speed until smooth. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter just until butter is melted. Gradually add to batter; beat on low speed, until just combined. Pour into a greased 10-in. spring foam pan. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting and serving.

** the sliced cake is blurry and im too lazy to run downstairs to cut another slice to get a nice photo. DEAL WITH IT!
